Hard Maple
Hard Maple is sought for its magnificent grain, light creamy color, and high hardness rating. Hard Maple ranks at a 1450 on the Janka Hardness Scale. Although Maple is harder than Red Oak due to the lack of grain and the smooth finish, Maple tends to show dents and scratches more easily than Oak. Due to its very white color Maple is a popular species for staining and allows for a smooth and even color to convey.
